Auntie Beebo’s Birthday Tea

Greetings and salutations, y’all. This week, we celebrated my Aunt Beebo’s birthday with high tea at Tea Leaves & Thyme. Mom, Bam and I took her there for scones, savories, desserts and Sugar Plum tea (our favorite). The tea house is a special place for us–we have been going there for over a decade. It’s a charming little place on Main Street in historic Woodstock.

The food is mouth-watering. Not only do you get a tray full of tea delights, but you can also order soups, salads and entrees. Everything is prepared from scratch using real ingredients (no margarine here!). I always love the tomato basil soup (with chopped pecans for a heartier texture) made with sautéed veggies blended with cream, and the phenomenal chicken salad on croissant. Their chicken salad features grapes and a little celery. My fave!

Having time together is the best part of this yearly outing. Aunt Beebo (Brenda) is an amazing lady. She has three grown sons, all married, and two beautiful granddaughters (and another on the way!). She helps take care of her granddaughters during the week. Aside from Mom and Bam, she is the sweetest person I know. She and Mom look a lot alike–they could almost be sisters! Happy Birthday, Aunt Beebo!
