The quilting continues! I finished Block Four, May Basket, last night. One of Bam’s favorite sayings came back to haunt me…measure twice, cut once. Since I have fat quarters of each piece of fabric, I decided to cut enough components for TWO blocks. My little plan was great, except for one flaw…I thought I had read the directions correctly and misread them. I needed blocks from the background fabric and basket fabric cut 5 7/8″ square. I mistakenly cut them all 5 3/4″. Just a fraction of an inch but it’s a HUGE error that could ruin the entire block. So I had to re-cut those big blocks. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough yardage in the pretty blue background fabric and was forced to substitute the golden batik print. Always MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE. Or huff and puff like me.
