Kitchen Towel Aprons

Mom and her ladies church group made some adorable aprons for a women’s charity in Nicaragua out of recycled medical towels (used only once on instrument trays and then discarded). They added pockets to the towels with cute quilting fabrics and grosgrain ribbon for the sash. I loved the idea and decided to make some myself (out of regular kitchen towels). Little Quilts prepares decorative towel kits with huge ric rac and pre-cut fabric designs. I used several of my favorite kits to make these aprons (up for sale on Etsy). Each one has a large pocket divided into three smaller pockets, edged with large ric rac, and the ribbon is very long so it can be cut down as needed. I love making something useful, adorable and machine washable!
